Anti-Fascist Economics

In partnership with New York University’s Remarque Institute, Pheneomenal World was pleased to host a talk between the preeminent economist Isabella Weber and New York Times columnist and staff writer David Wallace-Wells, to mark the publication of Weber’s new book, Anti-Fascist Economics, on Friday, October 16, in New York City.

Weber, a contributor to PW, has been a consistent and prescient voice on questions of inflation, supply chain disruptions, and economic policymaking for resilience to shocks—provoking heated censure, then sometimes contrition, among mainstream commentators.

Anti-Fascist Economics argues that democracies are vulnerable to far-right politics when economic policy making fails to provide for the essentials of life. It is crucial reading to understand debates around affordability policy in the United States, and surging far-right electoral outcomes across the world.
